Giving Thanks, Giving Back: Women Leading Food Justice in the U.S. and Israel
This conversation brings together two women shaping the future of food justice in very different, yet strikingly parallel, contexts – New York City and Jerusalem. Both societies produce abundance yet face widening gaps in access to nutritious, affordable food. Through stories from the ground and lessons from policy work, panelists will explore how communities are reimagining local food systems – moving from charity to equity, from waste to resilience, and from isolated projects to coordinated policy change. They’ll unpack how poverty, politics, and culture shape what’s on people’s plates, and how grassroots movements and city partnerships are shifting the balance of power to include the people most affected.
