Elluminate’s Israel Journey offers an extraordinary opportunity to experience Israel through a gender lens and engage directly with the women leading change on the ground. Travel with us across Israel for candid conversations, firsthand experiences, and behind-the-scenes access to the women, organizations, communities, and institutions responding to this pivotal moment.

THE JOURNEY

Jerusalem • The South • Northern Israel • Tel Aviv

This is not a traditional Israel mission. From November 15–19, we will travel across Israel and experience the country through the women who are shaping its future. Through candid conversations, firsthand experiences, and special access to leaders, organizations, communities, and institutions, we will explore the status of women in Israel and the challenges and possibilities facing the country at this pivotal moment.

A few highlights of the Journey include:

• Understanding Israel at this pivotal moment. We will begin with leading Israeli voices who will help us understand the current social, political, and security landscape through a gender lens, including what the post-election environment means for gender equality, women’s leadership, and the direction of the country.

• Jerusalem: At the center of national decision-making. We will spend the day at the Knesset and Supreme Court, exploring how policy and public life are shaping the future of women and the country, and engaging with women leaders working to advance gender equality and influence Israel’s future.

• Experiencing the diversity of Israeli society. Throughout the Journey, we will engage with the many communities that make up Israel—from Ethiopian Israelis and refugees and migrants to Bedouin, Arab, Jewish, and Orthodox women. We will explore questions of identity, belonging, opportunity, and equality, and see how women are strengthening their communities and building bridges across divides.

• The South: October 7, trauma, resilience, and rebuilding. We will travel south to bear witness to the events of October 7, including visits to the memorial honoring the female surveillance soldiers and the Nova Festival Memorial. The day will also focus on the resilience of the communities affected, the ongoing impact of trauma, and how women and communities are responding and rebuilding.

• Haifa: Women building a shared society. In one of Israel’s most diverse cities that was hit hard by missile fire over the past year, we will explore Jewish-Arab shared society, community resilience, and grassroots change, experiencing how women are working across differences to strengthen relationships and help shape a more shared future.

Throughout the Journey, we will spend time with members of Elluminate’s Collective and Global Jewish Women’s Leadership Network, women with whom we have built deep relationships over many years. This gives us a unique opportunity not simply to learn about their work, but to experience their leadership in action.
